The Milkweed Principle: Why Your Purpose Isn’t Something You Find — It’s Something You Allow
In my backyard, the milkweed pods have opened.
If you’ve never seen one split, it’s quiet. No drama. No announcement. Just a gentle seam giving way — and inside, silk threads holding a set amount of seeds, each one perfectly formed.
Each one carrying its own blueprint.
The seed does not question whether it’s meant to become milkweed.
It doesn’t attend a branding workshop.
It doesn’t compare itself to the holly bush in the yard.
It unfolds when the conditions are right.
There’s something sacred about that.
Creation carries its own intelligence. The design is embedded. The becoming is not manufactured — it is revealed.
And I believe the same is true for you.
So many of us — especially women in the healing and spiritual space — have been taught that purpose is something we must discover.
Define your mission.
Craft your vision.
We’ve consumed workshops, courses, and have journaled. And yes, reflection is important and intention matters.
But here’s what I see.
The more we try to construct our purpose, the farther away we get from our Strategy and Authority.
Because purpose isn’t a mental exercise.
It’s an unfolding.
And when you’re building a business rooted in transformation, that unfolding becomes intensely personal.
Your marketing doesn’t just test your messaging.
It tests your self-trust.
When you work for yourself, your business is not separate from your personal development.
It is your growth.
Your pricing will expose your worth wounds.
Your visibility will surface your fear of being judged.
Your launches will activate your old patterns around approval and rejection.
It’s not random.
Your business is a mirror.
And this is why so many holistic practitioners and energy healers hit a wall with marketing. They assume it’s a strategy issue.
But often, it’s an alignment issue.
You can have the right funnel, the right content calendar, the right email sequence — and still feel like you’re pushing a boulder uphill.
Because if your inner alignment isn’t there, your externnal strategy will always feel heavy.
Your business will only grow to the extent that your self-trust does.
This is where Human Design becomes so powerful.
Not trendy. Not mystical for the sake of it.
But practical.
The milkweed seed does not attempt to become a maple tree.
It follows its own internal patterns of growth.
In Human Design, your Strategy shows you how your energy is meant to move correctly in the world.
Your Authority shows you how to make decisions that is alignment with your energy.
And most business struggle comes down to one thing:
Making decisions from conditioning instead of design.
When you follow Strategy and Authority:
You stop forcing opportunities that aren’t yours.
You stop saying yes from fear.
You stop launching because “it’s what everyone else is doing.”
Instead:
You respond when your sacral lights up.
You initiate from clarity, not impulse.
You wait for recognition rather than chasing validation.
You give yourself time to gain emotional clarity before committing.
This isn’t abstraction.
This changes:
• The offers you create
• The clients you attract
• The pace at which you grow
• The way you market
• The way you sell
Human Design does not hand you a purpose.
It clears the interference so your purpose can emerge.
The Quiet Power of Clean Decisions
Most business frustration is a decision problem in disguise.
Should I pivot?
Should I raise my prices?
Should I niche down?
Should I collaborate?
Should I invest?
When decisions are made from urgency, comparison, or fear — your nervous system absorbs the cost.
When decisions are made from Strategy and Authority — something else happens.
Even if the outcome is uncertain, the decision feels clean.
There’s less second-guessing.
Less spiralling.
Less performing.
You begin to trust yourself.
And self-trust is not just good for your nervous system.
It’s magnetic.
Clients can feel when you are rooted in yourself.
Purpose Is Not Pressure. It’s Peace.
We often think purpose will feel big.
Impactful.
Visible.
Expansive.
But in truth, when you are aligned with your design, purpose feels… in flow, with ease.
It feels like coherence.
It feels like marketing without self-betrayal.
Selling without subtle shame.
Growing without burning yourself out.
The milkweed seed does not strain to become milkweed plant.
It becomes what it already is.
And when you follow your Strategy and Authority long enough, something shifts.
You stop trying to prove.
You stop trying to keep up.
You stop trying to be the maple tree.
You begin to honour your rhythm.
Your energy.
Your timing.
You become deeply resourced from within.
That’s mastery.
The Question Beneath the Question
If you’re reading this and something feels tight — pay attention.
Where are you forcing instead of following?
Where are you overriding your Authority because it feels inconvenient?
Where are you chasing growth instead of allowing it?
What if your next level isn’t about doing more — but about trusting more?
You were not designed to manufacture your purpose.
You were designed to embody it.
The blueprint is already within you.
And when your business is built in alignment with your design — when Strategy and Authority become your foundation — growth becomes less about effort and more about integrity.
The seed already knows.
The real question is:
Are you willing to trust what you were designed to be?
You can keep circling the same marketing frustration—tweaking posts, second-guessing your message, waiting to “feel ready.”
Or you can choose clarity.
If you know your work changes lives…
If you know you’re meant to lead at a bigger level…
